Salute is an amazing organisation. I'm not exaggerating in saying this. The dedication and open care and support that the guys provide is hugely admirable and very much required. Armed forces veterans are a pocket of society where our standardised care services fall short at times. Extended waiting lists and therapy approaches which may not be best suited to PTSD and other needs can leave some individuals lost and alone with their struggle. Salute steps in and offers open, honest and dutiful support which is proving to be much required and also very effective.
Established by ex-military service personnel (VETERANS) and their families, to assist serving military and ex-military service personnel and their families residing in the North West of England. We promote the well-being of all serving military and ex-military service personnel and their families in achieving physical, intellectual, emotional and social potential as individuals and as a family unit.
I'm glad to work alongside Salute and provide psychology support for their clients.
Time To Change
Time to change is a movement looking to promote and create much more open discussion about mental health and about the fact that we all struggle with something at som point. It's fine to acknowledge this. It's good to be able to be open up when appropriate and to process stuff and then get on. We all face difficulties. Facing them well and moving through them is so useful. Ignoring things, masking things and struggling with things is less than helpful at times.
Also, when someone has struggled letting them move forward from it can be a huge thing. Persistent stigma against an individual with mental health difficulties doesn't do them any good. Encouragement to a brighter and difficulty free future is preferable for all involved.
